I'm Julius Brown, and welcome to Christians in the Wild.
The idea for this blog came about after having begun a deeper study into both the Old Testament and the New Testament, and accumulating a collection of contextual/practical questions, "Christian vocabulary" that could use clarification, and commentary on the Scriptures as well as the church's approach to ministry.
While looking for answers to the questions and discussion for the ideas - it became apparent that weekly church sermons served ideology but often left unexplained the supporting theology, and community group discussions excelled in the personal but left little room for the conceptual.
My goal for this blog is to peel back the outer layer on what it means to practice faith in God, through Jesus Christ; and on what is being communicated by the events, commands, and arguments throughout the 66 books that span a Protestant bible - for growth both in my faith, and that of anyone who enjoys the blog or contributes to it.
While we pursue the knowledge, and the posture of heart to live righteously, I believe we should all be able to ask and learn about the tradition that we're a part of, and use the same discernment and reasoning that we do in our everyday lives, so we can make the faith that we have our own - thanks for reading.
Looking forward to this man!
